Ok, there's one thing I have to say as to why working here really sucks....
I recently got chewed out by my bosses for using "non-standard" labels on some of the plots we print, even though the label template we're "supposed" to be using is easily 1 year old and doesn't even have half the information we require.
So I sent an e-mail including the layouts I'd been using and said, "Well, we kinds have been using these for over 4 months, so maybe we should see about getting them approved."
I received e-mails from all my supervisors praising the idea, and saying how wonderful they would like to be to "support" this new initiative.
Gah.....
And, of course, leave it to night shift to come in and almost delete every label I'd made.
Oh yeah, just went in and deleted fields and sizes and things I had spent valuable time working on.
Fortunately, I keep backups, and proceeded to lock all the files down and place all the other label templates in a locked zip file.
I'm a cruel bastard sometimes. |
